Trains from Dover are affected

Urgent repairs to the railway line between Rainham and Sittingbourne are underway following a landslip that occurred on Friday 23 February.

The incident has caused a temporary closure of the rail line for safety inspections. However, due to further movement of the embankment, the line remains closed and will continue to be so until essential repairs can be carried out.

Network Rail conducted an additional inspection on Saturday, revealing the extent of work needed to rectify the landslip. As a result, disruption is expected to persist until the end of Friday, March 1st. Passengers who use the line between Rainham and Sittingbourne should anticipate delays and alternative arrangements.
