Around 8.20pm on Sunday 11 February 2024, a man reportedly had an unidentified corrosive liquid thrown at him after he entered St Laurence Graveyard, off Manston Road. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for burns and he has since been discharged.

Police report a 22-year-old man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into an assault with a noxious substance in Ramsgate and as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident, a man from the town was arrested on suspicion of assault on Tuesday 20 February and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives continue to urge anyone with any information who has yet to come forward to get in touch. They remain very keen to speak to a man who is believed to have walked out of the churchyard around 9pm.

The man is described as white, in his mid to late 20s, with short dark hair and glasses and wearing blue jeans, a black coat with a hood and black headphones. He is not being treated as a suspect, but officers think he could have witnessed something significant and might have information to help enquiries.
