Police investigators have arrested two suspects in connection with a serious collision on the A2 near Dartford. The incident took place at around 10.40pm on Friday 16 February 2024, on the Watling Street coastbound carriageway between the A296 and Ebbsfleet junctions.
Three cars were involved, a black Ford Fiesta, a blue Audi S3 and a blue MG HS. A passenger in the Fiesta was airlifted to a London hospital where she remains in a serious condition. The driver and a second passenger were also treated for injuries and later discharged.
The driver of the blue Audi S3 along with his female passenger had left the scene before patrols arrived and Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) started an investigation. On Tuesday 20 February, a 35-year-old man from Bexleyheath, Greater London and a 25-year-old woman from Walworth, Greater London were arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.
Officers are continuing to urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them if they have not yet spoken to the police.
