Witnesses are being urged to come forward following the death of a young swan in Canterbury.

The cygnet was found around 5.40pm on Sunday 11 February 2024 near the coach park off Kingsmead Road that runs alongside the River Stour. It is reported to have suffered a visible head injury.

Four teenage boys are alleged to have been acting in an antisocial manner in the area at the time, and ran away in the direction of the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket.

The incident is being investigated by officers from Kent Police’s Rural Task Force who are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Authorities have identified four teenage boys who were allegedly engaged in antisocial behavior within the vicinity at the time of the incident. These individuals swiftly fled in the direction of the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket.
