This weekend a number of dispersal orders will be in place to tackle nuisance vehicles in Larkfield and Snodland.

They will operate from 6pm on Friday 9 February until 9am on Sunday 11 February 2024, and cover:

•             Brook Street, Sortmill Road, and the bypass in Snodland

•             New Hythe Lane, Leybourne Way, Lunsford Lane, Papyrus Way, and Bellingham Way in Larkfield.

The orders also include side roads, public and private car parks, and industrial units and are being implemented due to an increase in community complaints of nuisance vehicles and dangerous driving. They allow officers to stop anyone involved in anti-social behaviour and move them on from the area.

Inspector Terry Newman from the west Kent Community Safety Unit said:

‘Residents have continued to report concerns about noise, skidding, and general anti-social driving, and we have concerns about the dangers posed to other road users and the detrimental impact on the quality of life of the community.

‘The orders give our officers additional powers to move on anyone causing a nuisance and, if necessary, arrest those who return to the area once dispersed. Those who persist in this behaviour also risk having their vehicles seized.’
