Dashcam footage is sought by officers investigating allegations a driver in Gillingham used his car to try and force another vehicle off the road.

A man was arrested after a white MG HS and a grey Vauxhall Corsa were involved in a collision close to the Medway Tunnel. The incident happened at around 3.45pm on Thursday 1 February 2024, at a location in Pier Road, near to the police station.

It is reported the actions of the MG driver initially caused a man at the wheel of the Vauxhall to swerve towards a road barrier. The suspect is said to have then manoeuvred his car in front of the victim before deliberately coming to a sudden stop, causing the Vauxhall to collide into the rear of the MG.

Police were called and a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing criminal damage. He is currently bailed, pending further enquiries, until 30 April.

Anyone with information, including dashcam footage showing the collision or the vehicles in the moments leading up to it, should call Kent Police on 01474 366149, quoting reference 46/17712/24. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or complete the online form.
