Two boys have been charged following a burglary in Ashford in which a car was reportedly stolen. Kent Police officers were called to a property in The Street, Willesborough, at around 2.35am on Monday 29 January 2024 after a car and keys were missing, along with a wallet and two mobile phones.

Officers tracked the suspected stolen vehicle to Forstal Road in Aylesford where, at 3.20am, they arrested a 16-year-old boy. The suspect, from Strood, was charged with burglary, attempted burglary and aggravated vehicle taking without consent. The car was recovered along with the other missing items.

On 30 January a second teenager, aged 16 from Basildon, Essex was also charged with the same offences and both boys have been remanded and are due to appear before Medway Youth Court on 7 February 2024.
