Police have arrested a man in Tunbridge Wells over a series of burglaries which were reported between May 13, and November 9, 2023.

The offences targeted victims’ homes and a shop, and items such as jewellery, cash, and food were reportedly stolen. 

After forensic examinations were completed at the scenes in the Sherwood and Pembury areas, officers from Tonbridge CID recovered suspected stolen jewellery from a business in Tonbridge High Street.

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, a man was arrested in connection with the burglaries. A 46-year-old man of no fixed address, was later charged with four burglaries, three counts of attempted burglary, and handling stolen goods. He was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 19, 2024.
