Detectives investigating a report of a serious sexual assault in Rochester are appealing for dashcam footage.

The incident is alleged to have happened in the early hours of Sunday 12 November 2023, at a car park in Corporation Street, which is next to a car wash and opposite the train station.

Detective Inspector Lee Neiles, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: ‘We are seeking the assistance of the public to help us piece together events leading up to and following this incident.

‘We specifically want motorists with dashcam (including taxi drivers and bus drivers) who were passing Rochester train station in either direction, between 12.50am and 1.10am on Sunday 12 November 2023, to send us their footage. You could be crucial to our success in solving this case.’

A 21-year-old man from Rochester who was arrested on Monday 13 November in connection with the incident has been bailed to return to the police station, pending further enquiries.
