A man has been charged with a violent attack and theft in Dover that left another man with serious head injuries.

Kent Police responded to a report of an assault on Snargate Street at about 9pm on Saturday 16 September 2023.

They found a man in his 40s who had been injured in the head. He was taken to a hospital in London where he is still in a serious but stable condition.

East Kent CID investigated the incident and charged a man from Wellingborough with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and criminal damage.

The 34-year-old will appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 28 September.
