Witnesses are being sought by Kent Police detectives investigating an attempted robbery in Folkestone.

At around 8.45pm on Tuesday 12 September 2023, a man was walking up the steps next to the viaduct over Bradstone Avenue when he was approached by a man and a teenage boy.

The man and boy demanded the victim give them his belongings and punched him, causing facial injuries. The victim managed to get away from the area and later contacted police.

One suspect is described as in his 30s, around 6ft 1in tall, of large build with a short beard. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark jumper. The boy is described as around 15, roughly 5ft 5ins tall, and was wearing glasses.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident or who has doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist the investigation is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/164149/23.
