Detectives investigating a suspected arson in Folkestone have made an arrest.
A 41-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested on suspicion of arson and assaulting a man in the store shortly after the incident. The arrest was made on the morning of Friday 18 August.
On Sunday 13 August 2023, Kent Police received a report that a fire had been started outside a Co-Op in High Street, Cheriton at around 6.45pm. The fire was quickly extinguished by a member of the public and no injuries were reported.
The East Kent CID is investigating the incident and the man has been taken into custody while enquiries continue.
