A man has been charged with attempted murder and another has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Thanet.

The incident occurred on Sunday 13 August 2023, shortly after midnight, at Craven Close, Garlinge. A man was found with stab wounds and was taken to a London hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition.

Kent Police officers arrived at the scene quickly and made the first arrest soon after.

According to East Kent CID investigations, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charge of attempted murder against a 25-year-old Margate man. He also faces a charge of possession of an offensive weapon (knife) in a public place and was due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14 August.

A second suspect, a 22-year-old man from Broadstairs, is still in custody while enquiries continue.
