Residents of Blue Field in Ashford are being urged to remain vigilant after an attempted burglary in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Two people, one of whom was wearing a distinctive camouflage jacket and a black cap, tried to force their way into a house at around 12.05am. However, they were scared off by the security lighting and ran away from the scene.

The police are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the suspects or have any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them. The suspects are described as follows:

  • One was wearing a hooded camouflage jacket, with a black gilet over the top, black tracksuit bottoms with a white design down the sides, a black cap and black boots.
  • The other was wearing dark clothing and had their face covered.

Police also advise residents to take precautions to secure their homes and valuables, such as locking doors and windows, installing alarms and motion-sensor lights, and marking their property with UV pens.
