At around 4.30pm on Tuesday 25 July 2023, a child was playing in Victoria Park when she was reportedly approached by a male who held her by her arms and started taking pictures of her.
The child’s mother was able to intervene and take the little girl away. The male then left the area.
Arrest
Following enquiries by the East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, a 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who has any information, or who saw anything suspicious in the park between 4pm and 4.40pm, to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/133084/23.
