A jewellery shop in Sevenoaks was targeted by two burglars who smashed the front window and stole a number of items in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The suspects, who were wearing scarves over their faces, fled the scene on cycles with an orange bag containing the stolen jewellery. They were spotted by a witness who alerted the police.

Kent Police officers arrived at the High Street shop at around 1.45am and conducted a search of the area, but the thieves managed to escape.

Detective Constable Megan Collins, of the Kent Crime Squad, is leading the investigation and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

She said: “We are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate these offenders, who have caused significant damage and loss to a local business. We are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist our enquiries.”
