A man has been taken into custody by Kent Police as they probe the death of a Gillingham man, which is being treated as suspicious.

The 41-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday 19 July in relation to the death of John Convey, 53, who was found dead on a grassy area in Lower Twydall Lane on Thursday 13 July 2023, shortly before 11.30pm.

The cause of Mr Convey’s death is still unknown and officers from the Major Crime Unit are conducting enquiries to establish what happened. The suspect, who is also from Gillingham, has been released on bail until Monday 11 September pending further investigation.
