A routine traffic stop in Margate led to the discovery of a large stash of cocaine and cannabis worth up to £113,000 in Thanet.

Kent Police officers pulled over a Ford Focus with a flat tyre and other damage in St Peter’s Road at around 8.15pm on Sunday 16 July 2023.

They arrested the driver after finding a small amount of drugs in the car.

However, further investigations took them to a Ramsgate property where they seized more drugs and a Mercedes car.

They also arrested a woman at the scene.

A 30-year-old man from Ramsgate, was charged with possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.

He appeared before Folkestone magistrates on Tuesday 18 July and was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 21 August.

A 25-year-old woman was released on bail pending further enquiries. She was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
