Police in Dartford have charged a man with firearms offences following an incident in the town.

The man aged 18 and of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent.

The charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service following an investigation by Kent Police after three people were involved in an altercation on Wednesday 24 May 2023 in William Mundy Way, Dartford.

During the incident one person was reported to have been seen brandishing what appeared to be a firearm.

The man was additionally charged with possession of a bladed weapon, being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. These charges were authorised following his arrest in St Vincent’s Road, Dartford, on Friday 14 July.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 July 2023 where he was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 14 August.

A 20-year-old man who was previously arrested in connection with the incident remains on bail, pending further enquiries, until 28 August.
