A knuckle duster and an axe were confiscated along with over two kilograms of suspected class A drugs as a result of the latest patrol operation in Medway.

On the afternoon of Friday 7 July 2023, plainclothes officers from the Proactive Targeting Team spotted a suspicious vehicle that had stopped in a car park off Capstone Road, Chatham.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, was stopped, and the vehicle examined under the Misuse of Drugs Act. About 15 small cocaine transactions were found, along with money.

Further investigations led to the exploration of a nearby residential address in Mills Terrace, where officers uncovered significant amounts of powdered substances. A second suspect, a 47-year-old woman, was arrested during the operation. Additionally, several weapons, including the axe and knuckle duster, as well as a sword and a lock knife, were seized.

Both suspects were taken into custody and have subsequently been released on bail.
