Police in Folkestone stopped and confronted drivers who were breaking the rules.

On Friday 9 June 2023 they were out and about with volunteers from the Special Constabulary and other teams on roads in Folkestone and Hythe. They gave out 14 tickets to drivers for offences incuding using phones, not wearing seatbelts, and speeding.

They also reported one person for driving without a licence and gave another person a warning for having cannabis. They advised 12 other drivers about their driving or their cars.

The Folkestone Community Safety Unit said that this was part of the Safer Summer campaign by Kent Police to make the roads safer. They asked all drivers to take care of their cars and drive carefully.

Officers warned they would take action against anyone who did not follow the rules.
