Two suspected thieves have been charged with multiple offences after items were stolen from gyms in the Ashford area.

Ashford’s Local Policing Team and the Kent Crime Squad investigated the thefts of cash and bank cards from lockers at two gyms in the Ashford district and one in Eastbourne.

A 50-year-old man from Bexhill-on-Sea, has now been charged with six counts of burglary and 10 counts of fraud in relation to the offences.

A woman aged 36 from Winchelsea, has been charged with five counts of burglary.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between Friday 20 January and Monday 20 February.

Both defendants appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 25 February and the case was adjourned to Canterbury Crown Court on a date to be arranged.
