Good Samaritan steps in after teenager ‘stabbed’ in Herne Bay

Detectives investigating a report of a robbery in Herne Bay are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Kent Police is investigating the incident which took place at around 10.30pm on Thursday 9 February 2023 in the Avenue Road area of the town.

A teenage boy sustained a single injury, consistent with a stab wound, following an altercation with a person. He required hospital treatment for his injury. His green iPhone 13 was also stolen during the incident. Officers have since recovered the phone.

Detective Inspector Daniel Aylett said: ‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and exact location of the robbery.

‘We understand that the victim and his friend – another teenage boy – flagged down a car and were given a lift to the hospital by a man.

‘We are keen to locate and speak to this good Samaritan as he could have information as a potential witness that could assist our investigation.’

Anyone else with information or CCTV or dashcam footage taken in the area between 10pm and 11pm on Thursday 9 February is also asked to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/25405/23.
