After over 25 years at their current home at Beaver Lane in Ashford, Find A Voice is looking for a new home.

Operations and Fundraising Manager Sam Griffin says ‘As a charity we are growing and the need for our services is greater than ever, so now is the time for us to expand and venture into a new space.

We registered as a charity in October 1996 and since 2001 the organisation has operated from a single storey centre in Ashford, providing services primarily to those in the county of Kent.’

Find A Voice supports children and adults who have a severe speech, language or communication difficulty, and who may require some form of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support. This can include signing, symbols or a communication aid.

Support is provided in person, by telephone and via its website. Additionally, the charity provides a range of ICT and life skills programmes and qualifications to adults with a learning or communication disability.

Sam Griffin says ‘We decided we wanted to spread the word about our move, as there may be another charity who may be interested in space sharing to help with costs, or a local business who has available space for us to move into.

‘Many of our clients have poor mobility, and so an accessible space is essential. The community of Ashford have been an amazing support to us and our service users over our 27 years, and we cannot wait to be able to welcome more service users through our doors.’
