Pupils from a Folkestone school have been given a helping hand by Kent Police to hone their crime-detecting skills.

On Friday 20 January 2023, the children of Hawkinge Primary School welcomed a visit from Chief Inspector Keith Taylor and members from the local police team.

The team offered advice and support to the children who have been studying policing and crime as their term topic. They answered questions about their roles and demonstrated how they look at fingerprints and shoe marks when gathering evidence. The pupils were also shown the police cars and had an opportunity to try on some of the uniform.

Ch Insp Keith Taylor said: ‘The children really enjoyed our visit, and asked lots of questions to help them solve a “crime” that the teachers had set up in the school. Thank you to all of those who took part.’
