Witnesses and dashcam footage are being sought by officers after a teenage boy was repeatedly punched in the face during a robbery in Ashford.

The 16-year-old victim was assaulted in a car park in Vicarage Lane, where he was walking with friends.

The incident is reported to have happened on Monday 23 January 2023 between 1.30pm and 1.45pm, when the victim was approached by two male suspects who demanded he remove his coat.

It is alleged that when the boy refused, he was punched several times before the suspects then forcibly unzipped his coat and stole it.

Later the same day, officers arrested an 18-year-old man from Ashford on suspicion of robbery. He is currently on bail, pending the outcome of further enquiries.

Police are now keen to hear from anyone with information which may assist the investigation. It is believed the car park may have been busy at the time, with students heading to and from the nearby college and drivers are also asked to check dashcam for any important footage.
