Patrolling officers in Northfleet have charged a driver with offences after he was seen driving a vehicle with a burst tyre.

The driver was stopped in the early hours of Wednesday 25 January in Colney Road, Northfleet, after police were called.

Officers made enquiries and established the person driving did not own the car and did not have insurance.

Smell of cannabis

Due to a smell of cannabis coming from the car officers searched the vehicle for drugs and during the search they found bags of cannabis and a quantity of cash and the man was arrested.

A man aged 41, from Edgware, Greater London, has been charged with two counts of possession of class B drugs and driving without insurance. Officers are continuing their enquiries around further driving offences.

He has been remanded in custody.
