A drug dealer who was charged after he was the victim of a stabbing in Dover has been jailed.
Imara Gillings, of Crystal Palace, south London, was assisting the cuckooing of an address in the town in October 2020.
He sustained serious stab wounds and was found near the address after a dispute with another county line drug dealer.
Following an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, the perpetrator of the attack has since been jailed for 20 years after being found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm and other offences elsewhere in the country.
The investigation also revealed that Gillings had discarded a bag following the incident in Balfour Road on 6 October 2020.
Analysis of substances found in the bag showed it contained crack cocaine and heroin with a combined street value of around £2,000.
Following his discharge from hospital, Gillings was charged with and later admitted possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
The 21-year-old was jailed for three years and ten months at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday 19 January 2023.
Detective Sergeant Richard Allingham, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: ‘I hope this case sends out two messages to anyone thinking of dealing drugs.
‘The first is that you could become yet another victim of the serious violence which all too often goes hand in hand in county lines activity.
‘The second is that you will also end up in prison, with jail terms reflecting the impact these groups have on our communities.’
