Five men have been arrested after a stolen Land Rover was recovered by officers just hours after a report of a burglary near Tonbridge.

The vehicle was one of two Land Rovers stolen from a property in Plaxtol, during the early hours of Monday 16 January 2023.

The burglary was reported to Kent Police at 8.30am the same day and fast track actions led to one of the vehicles being located as it was being driven in the Blackwall Tunnel on the A2 towards London.

It was stopped by Kent and Metropolitan Police patrols at around 3.20pm, along with a Nissan Navara travelling in close proximity.

Five men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were held in connection with theft offences.

The second stolen Land Rover remains outstanding and the suspects were all later bailed to return to a police station, subject to an ongoing investigation by West Kent CID.
