Dover District Council has received a further grant of almost £200k to continue helping households in the district – after it received the local allocation of round three of the Government’s Household Support Fund from Kent County Council.
The grant is intended to help support local communities with essentials over the winter. This follows a previous grant of over £170k announced in January this year, and an extension of over £400k in July to help support households in most need.
The total amount of £197,862 from the latest round of the fund is being used to support:
- Dover Foodbank – £42,000
- Deal Foodbank (which includes rural provision)- £42,000
- Sandwich Age Concern – £20,000
- Deal Centre (Age Concern) – £20,000
- Dover Riverside Centre (Friend of Age UK) – £20,000
- Dover Outreach Centre £13,862
- CAB Dover District – £30,000
- United Families- £10,000
