Kent County Council

Kent County Council Trading Standards are alerting residents in East Farleigh and Tonbridge after reports of householders being targeted by cold callers claiming to work for a charity.

One cold caller knocked on residents’ properties, claiming to be from Heart of Kent Hospice. The charity confirmed they do not send out cold callers seeking donations.

The second cold caller repeatedly visited a resident’s home, claiming to be from a deaf charity but had no documents to prove he was working with the charity. They also wanted information about a neighbour.

What should I do?

Never respond to cold callers knocking on your door.

Report cold callers to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
