Kent Police was called at 10.15pm on Thursday 29 September 2022 to a report that a man had been assaulted in Albion Street, opposite the junction with Harbour Street.

Police attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the man was taken to a local hospital with an injury consistent with a stab wound.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and a weapon has been recovered as part of the investigation.

It’s understood from Kent Police that the victim’s injuries are not described as life-threatening.
