A suspect has been arrested after a man suffered life-threatening injuries in Maidstone.

Kent Police was called with ambulance crews to the Hare and Hounds public house in Lower Boxley Road, shortly after 8.35pm on Saturday 20 August 2022.

A man had sustained injuries during a reported altercation and was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

On Monday 22 August, a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody.

Investigating officers are continuing to appeal for anybody who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could assist enquiries, to contact the appeal line.

A 25-year old man detained following the incident on suspicion of affray has been bailed to return to a police station on 14 September.
