A suspect has been charged with firearms offences following an arrest in Dover.

Kent Police made the arrest after visiting an address in the Folkestone Road area of the town on Monday 25 July 2022.

Barney Buttifint has since been charged with two counts of possessing a firearm without a firearm certificate and one count of possessing ammunition in quantities in excess of those authorised in a firearm certificate.

The 36-year-old, of Lascelles Road, Dover, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 27 July and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday 30 August.
