A swift response by officers to reports of shoplifting from a store in Sittingbourne saw the suspects arrested and items returned.

Kent Police was called to the Co-op, Sheppey Way at 10.43pm on Thursday 9 June 2022 after the store reported items including meat, alcohol and washing detergent had been taken.

Officers from the Swale Local Policing Team attended and within nine minutes they had located three people and the items, valued at more than £100 were seized.

Alfie Lee, 23, from Harkness Court in Sittingbourne was charged with shoplifting and possession of a class B drug.

He was also charged with two further counts of shoplifting that had occurred on 28 May and 8 June 2022.

He will appear at Maidstone Magistrates Court on 28 June 2022.

The two other people arrested were released under investigation.
