A suspect is to appear in court charged with attempted murder following a report of an assault with a knife in Tunbridge Wells.

Kent Police was called at 2.30pm on Wednesday 1 June 2022, to Grosvenor and Hilbert Park where a teenager had an injury consistent with a stab wound. He was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
On the following day a 16-year-old boy from Tunbridge Wells, was arrested. He was charged on Saturday 4 June with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
The suspect was remanded in custody and was due before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 June.
Four other teenage boys detained in connection with the incident were later bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.
Detective Inspector Jim Farley, of Tonbridge CID, said: ‘Our officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are urging witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to call the appeal line.
‘We are also asking anybody with mobile phone footage of the incident to contact us.’
