Jean and Ian Clifton win best front or back garden
Ashford in Bloom gardening competition organisers have admitted to it being a hard job judging some of the best entries they have ever had.
Mayor of Ashford Cllr Callum Knowles was involved in the judging and said: “The standard of entries was exceptional. With the focus on reusing, recycling and reducing, we were delighted to receive a record number of high quality entries. A special word of thanks to those companies who have donated great prizes, we are grateful for their generosity.”
The winners, who each receive a trophy, are:
- Jean and Ian Clifton – best front or back garden (prize is a £50 voucher donated by Longacres Bybrook Barn garden centre plus a council free garden waste collection service for a year).
- Nikkii Griffith – most environmentally friendly garden (prize is a Godinton House & Gardens season ticket and a cream tea for two, plus a council free garden waste collection service for a year).
- Sarah Mabb – best indoor garden (prize is a £50 Homebase voucher donated by ENGIE).
- Farrow Court – best communal garden (prize is £50 National Gardening voucher and a garden water butt donated by South East Water).
- Andy Clark – best balcony (prize is fine English wine donated by Biddenden Vineyards).
- Jean Wills – best window box (prize is gardening equipment donated by Ashford Wilkos store).
- Joshua Austin – best young gardener u-14 (prize is a £50 Waitrose/John Lewis voucher donated by Ashford Waitrose).
