Man to appear in court after proactive arrest of suspected cocaine dealer in Tunbridge Wells

A suspected cocaine dealer is to appear in court following a proactive arrest in Tunbridge Wells.

At around 11.55am on Tuesday 4 January 2022, officers from the town’s Community Policing Team were on patrol in Mount Ephraim, when they spoke to the driver of a Mini that had stopped outside a hotel.

Suspecting he was involved in the supply of Class A drugs, the constables searched him under the Misuse of Drugs Act. They seized a quantity of cocaine deals and some cash.

Arrest 

The man was arrested and a search of a room in the hotel led to the recovery of more cocaine from inside a suitcase.

The man from Newcastle upon Tyne was later charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The 30-year-old was remanded in custody was due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today, 5 January 2022.
