A large tidal surge is expected to affect coastal areas from Ramsgate to Folkestone between 11.30am and 12.45pm today.

The Environment Agency has said a large tidal surge is expected to affect the foreshore from Ramsgate to Folkestone tomorrow lunchtime, Tuesday 04/01/22, as a result of high spring tides and strong winds.

Tides will be at their highest between 11:30 and 12:00 today, Tuesday 04/01/22, with high tide at 11:45.

Flooding to roads and low lying land is expected at these times, however these conditions may apply two to four hours either side of high tide.

Coastal conditions are expected to continue until after the high tides at 12:45 on 5/01/22.

The situation is being closely monitored by incident response staff who are prepared to respond if required.
