Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called shortly after 8.30am yesterday 8 August, to reports of a car alight on the M20, between Junction 9 for Ashford and Junction 8 for Hollingbourne, Maidstone.
Two fire engines arrived and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
Whilst dealing with the blaze, crews were called to a second incident, at 9.17am on the same stretch of the motorway, involving a camper van on fire.
Firefighters used compressed air foam to put the fire out.
No casualties were reported.
Patrols from National Highways also attended to manage road closures while crews worked at the scene.
