An appeal has been issued to identify a suspect after a man was reportedly assaulted and robbed of his e-scooter in Dover.

The victim reported that he met a man in Priory Station Approach Road between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Friday 4 June 2021 to discuss the sale of an e-scooter. It is alleged the man then assaulted the victim and left with the item.

The victim, who is in his 40s, said he chased the man along Folkestone Road, Ethelbert Road, Tower Street and through to South Street but was unable to retrieve his property.

He described the suspect as white, over six feet tall, unshaven and of large build. He was wearing square-rimmed glasses, a bright blue watch, black tracksuit bottoms, blue trainers and a white T-shirt.

The e-scooter is black with a headlight, flashing LED lights and four suspension springs.

Officers investigating the robbery are appealing for witnesses, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage which may assist, to get in contact as soon as possible.
