Woman who ‘bit and kicked’ police officer in Maidstone to appear in court

A suspect is to appear in court after allegedly assaulting a police officer in Maidstone.

At around 5.05pm on Sunday 7 March 2021, a patrol was called to concerns for the welfare of a person in Sandling Road.

An officer attended Staceys Street where a woman was seen to walk in front of moving vehicles.

Arrest 

As she tried to get her to return to the pavement the officer was then reportedly kicked and bitten. The woman was arrested and taken into custody.

The suspect from Maidstone was later charged with assaulting an emergency worker by beating.

A woman aged 31, was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 9 March.
