On Saturday 23 January at 7.35am, the volunteer crew of the Dungeness Shannon-class lifeboat, The Morrell, were called to a fishing vessel half a mile east of the station station
A crewman on the board the vessel had suffered a crush injury and required medical assistance. The lifeboat was launched and arrived on scene within 2 minutes.
Once on scene, the casualty was assessed and taken onboard the lifeboat for medical treatment.
The lifeboat returned to the station, where the casualty was taken by an ambulance team to hospital.
Stuart Adams, RNLI Coxswain for Dungeness RNLI Lifeboat, says: ‘The casualty was in good spirits and did the right thing in calling the UK Coastguard for assistance. We wish him a quick recovery.’
